Welcome To The Ultra Lo
We welcome you to our new Ampeg blog, The Ultra Lo! We are super happy to have you here and hope that you will discover some fun stories, useful tips, and entertainment.
We have endless ideas of blogs that we want to write for you, including product stories and tips, hearing from artists, and things you may not think of. But we still would love to hear from you on what you want to read about, so please comment below with things you’ve been wondering about that involve Ampeg, bass, or Dino… I’m sure you all have things you want to learn more about Dino!
Speaking of Dino here are a few of us that you will see posting blogs:
Dino “The Ampeg Guy” Monoxelos
Dino has spent over 25 years in the Ampeg world conducting seminars and clinics all over the globe. This means he knows a thing or two about Ampeg products, the history of Ampeg, and the artists that have fueled Ampeg. But don’t let those 25 years of hanging around bass amps fool you… he’s also the author of four instructional bass books by Mel Bay and his own publishing company, MonoTunes Music. His favorite bass to play is his MTD 534-24. One of his favorite songs that just gives you the feels with that bass line is “My Girl” … “because it ALWAYS puts a smile on everyone’s face!”
Dom Liberati
Dom is Ampeg’s Product Owner, but that is not all… Dom is also a producer, songwriter, and Grammy Nominated Bassist. He will have a lot of good tips to share in the recording studio and on stage. His favorite bass to play on stage is his blue American Original 60s P bass. His favorite bass to play in studio is his sunburst American Deluxe Jazz Bass V.
Angela Heine
Oh it’s me. Always a little awkward to talk about yourself. I have loved music since the day I was in the womb, with my mom being a guitarist. I also have a great curiosity and interest in all insects. At some point I might have to dive into the great songs of these little creatures. I’m always one to ooh and ahh when I hear a good bass line. Here is one I love, Fatback Band “(Are You Ready) Do The Bus Stop,” and Chaka Khan also used it in her “Like Sugar” song.
Thanks again for joining us on our new Ultra Lo journey. We’d love to hear more about your bass journey too. Do you play in a band? Do you have a favorite prized bass? What bass line have you heard lately in a song that you just can’t get out of your head?
